2018 Ford F-150 Steps Up Another Level

Ford has officially premiered the 2018 F-150 and it’s downright impressive. Tougher, smarter and more capable than before, the incoming model features a rugged appearance, a slew of new technologies and fresh engine options that deliver enough power to get you wherever you want to go. Coming to Peoria Ford this fall, the F-150 is destined to be a premier choice for truck buyers.

The 2018 Ford F-150 sports a high-strength steel frame and aluminum alloy body. Throughout the lineup, the pickup truck features brand-new grilles, headlights, bumpers and wheel designs, improving its look. The tailgate has also been enhanced and has “F-150” stamped across it. On King Ranch, Platinum and Limited models, a tailgate applique can also be found.

New available technologies offered on the truck include an embedded 4G LTE modem that accommodates a Wi-Fi hotspot, adaptive cruise control, pre-collision assist, pedestrian detection and a B&O PLAY audio system that delivers premium sound.

Additional components carried over from last year’s model, such as lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, a 360-degree camera and SYNC infotainment, will also be offered.

A new 3.3L V6 engine, featuring direction injection, comes standard on the F-150. It delivers 282 horsepower and 253 lb.-ft. of torque.

A 2.7L EcoBoost engine is also new this year. Complete with direct injection and less internal friction, it is set to produce optimal performance.

The previously available 5.0L V8 returns, but sports a number of updates that improve its overall power.

Also new to the lineup is a 3.0L Power Stroke diesel engine – the first of its kind to be offered on the F-150.

All engines aside from the 3.3L V6 are matched to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
