Ford Pro and Xcel Energy Join Forces to Facilitate Deployment of 30,000 Electric Vehicle Charging Stations for Corporate Fleets by 2030

Electrifying commercial vehicle fleets traversing extensive distances daily across North American roads holds immense potential for positively impacting the planet's health. Despite numerous advantages, more infrastructure is needed to prevent widespread fleet electrification. In a recent collaboration, Ford Pro and Xcel Energy have joined forces to expand the availability of charging stations significantly. Furthermore, businesses in specific states stand to gain from mitigating fees associated with upgrading their fleets.

Xcel Energy's Electric Vehicle Supply Infrastructure initiative explicitly outlines the ambitious goal of developing 30,000 new chargers by the year 2030, directly addressing the concern of limited access to charging facilities. While many fleet operators envision charging their electric vehicles at their dedicated stations, the prohibitive installation costs often deter such plans. Consequently, the new initiative includes reimbursement for charger installation expenses and post-installation support, currently applicable in Colorado, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. Potential expansion of the program to other states such as Texas, South Dakota, North Dakota, New Mexico, and Michigan is under consideration. Additionally, Ford Pro is set to provide access to Ford Pro Telematics and Ford Pro Intelligence, enhancing fleet management capabilities.
