Ford is No. 1 Mainstream Brand in J.D. Power Initial Quality Study

Ford has made waves across the automotive landscape in 2026, securing the No. 1 spot among mainstream brands in the J.D. Power Initial Quality Study for the first time since 2010. Focused on customer satisfaction across vehicle safety, modern design, and integrated technology, Ford has earned major industry recognition.

No. 1 Mainstream Brand

Ford's turnaround over the past few years is noteworthy. Having ranked No. 15 among mainstream brands in J.D. Power's 2023 study, the automaker systematically improved its standings to take top honors. Jim Farley, Ford President and CEO, reflected on the journey.

"This is a proud day for everyone at Ford and the result of years of intensive work across our company. Many doubted that an American company with a huge American workforce could compete with the world's best on quality, let alone reach the top. But we put our heads down and worked together every day to deliver for our customers." Farley stated, "Today, Ford is not only the most American automaker but also the gold standard for new vehicle quality."

Thomas King, J.D. Power president of OEM solutions, observed that Ford's victory was anchored by several of its most iconic vehicles, sharing, "The Ford F-150, Ford Mustang, and Ford Super Duty ranked highest in their respective segments."

With seven out of 10 Ford models placing in the top three of their categories, Ford demonstrated superior quality control across its portfolio. Peoria Ford offers access to key models like the F-150, Super Duty, Mustang, and Explorer. Stop by Peoria Ford to take a test drive and experience these top-ranked vehicles firsthand.
