2023 Ford F-150 vs 2023 Ford Super Duty

Ford's F-Series trucks are renowned for their dominance in the light-duty and heavy-duty truck markets. While the F-150 is the undisputed leader in the light-duty segment, the Super Duty rules supreme among the world's finest heavy-duty trucks. However, the F-150 and the Super Duty are not just scaled-up or scaled-down versions of each other. Each truck boasts unique characteristics that make them formidable leaders in their respective classes.

Performance

Performance-wise, light-duty, and heavy-duty trucks have significant differences, which is exactly how it should be. The F-150 comes with a 3.3L V6 base engine that delivers 290 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque. The base Super Duty engine is a 6.8L V8 gas engine that churns out 405 horsepower and 445 lb-ft of torque. Both trucks offer multiple engine options and top out at 430 horsepower (F-150) and 500 horsepower (Super Duty). The Super Duty also offers an incredible 1,200 pounds of torque.

Appearance

The F-150 has a more athletic and streamlined appearance, owing to its status as a light-duty truck. Its body is constructed using a high-strength, military-grade aluminum alloy, while its frame is made of high-strength steel. In contrast, the Super Duty has received a complete overhaul, with a revamped front-end design that includes a near-piping system surrounding its thick and highly decorative grille. Both trucks feature full and vertical LED headlamps, while new features like tailgate-down cameras and bed views from the cabin allow you to appreciate your truck while driving.

Features

Ford has shown its dedication to workers by providing these trucks with new interiors that are more practical and comfortable. Both models come with a center console that doubles as a workspace, perforated leather-appointed seats for added comfort, and dual 12-inch screens for the front-seat passenger. Perforated leather is available earlier in the Super Duty lineup, but it's also an option for the F-150, along with real wood trim and leather seating. Both models are equipped with Ford Co-Pilot, which includes automatic emergency braking and lane departure alert features.
