Performance

The XL and XLT are available with Ford's 3.5L EcoBoost V6 in two states of tune - producing either 275 or 310 horsepower. The XL rides on 16-inch silver steel wheels with black hubcaps; the XLT is equipped with 16-inch steel wheels with full silver wheel covers.

Appearance

The Transit is unmistakable, and the XL and XLT differ in small styling cues. The XLT has a honeycomb mesh grille with a chrome surround, while the XL's surround is carbon black, which impacts the van's front-end styling. Running boards are optional for both trims. Features

The XL's interior includes vinyl front and rear floor covering, automatic rain-sensing windshield wipers, and a standard AM/FM stereo with a 4" display and Bluetooth. Dual USB ports are standard. The XLT adds SYNC 4 with a 12" display and connected navigation, carpeted floors front and rear, and a Lane Keeping System with Blind Spot Information. The center console is medium on the XL and large on the XLT. If you want the most driver-assist features right out of the box, choose the XLT - it includes Cross-Traffic Alert and Trailer Coverage as standard, which the XL does not. The XL still offers optional upgrades.
