What's New For The 2019 Ford Expedition?

In 2019, the Ford Expedition is bigger, bolder, and more sophisticated than ever. This year's Expedition features two body lengths, which are a regular length and an extended cab. While both offer plenty of room for both passengers and cargo, the extended cab gives you even more cabin and cargo capacity. Up to eight passengers can ride comfortably in the Expedition, which has various seating configurations to accommodate everyone's needs.

There are three trim levels available in this year's model, and each has its own set of standard amenities. But no matter which version you get, you can look forward to a number of enticing features, including a powerful engine, a substantial towing capacity, an array of safety amenities, and comfortable seats that are even available in leather, depending on your chosen trim level.

Which Trims & Features are Available for 2019?

There are three trim levels of the Expedition to choose from. All are available with either a regular-length wheelbase or an extended wheelbase. The base model is called the XLT. The enticing amenities you'll find on this trim level include 18-inch aluminum wheels, which can be upgraded to larger 20-inch wheels for an even more impressive exterior appearance. A four-inch digital display provides vital information to the driver and contains controls for the sound system and the car's information system. A driver's message center provides information about the car's performance and health. If you want your Expedition to be even more luxurious, you can add on power-adjustable brakes, heated outside mirrors, and a WiFi hotspot for instant connectivity.

Moving up the line, the next Expedition you can choose is the Limited. This trim has heated and ventilated leather seats, along with power-folding bench seats in the second row. If you want to upgrade, you can get bucket-style back row seats to make passengers more comfortable. No matter which style of seats you choose for the back row, they'll be heated to make winter driving more pleasant. Both the driver's and the front passenger's seat move in 10 ways. Dual-zone air conditioning and a cabin air filter regulate temperature and keep the air pure.

Finally, the highest trim level is the Platinum. This trim features all the standard amenities of the previous trim levels, along with HD radio, USB charging ports in the second row, and a wireless charging station. A panoramic 360-degree camera with split views makes driving in all directions easier, including traveling in reverse. The steering wheel is heated and wrapped in leather, and wood grain accents throughout the cabin add to its luxurious look.

Powerful Engines Provide Excellent Performance

The standard engine, which you'll find on the base models, is a 3.5L, six-cylinder engine that produces up to 375 HP and up to 470 LB-FT of torque. The Platinum comes standard with an engine of the same size, but it produces up to 400 HP and up to 480 LB-FT of torque. The engines are all matched with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive is standard, but you can upgrade to four-wheel drive if you prefer.

Ford Expedition Safety Features

2019 Ford Expedition Exterior RearThe 2019 Expedition is designed to keep occupants safe in case of a crash with an advanced airbag system that has front, side, and curtain airbags. A tire pressure monitoring system, anti-lock brakes and a child seat locking system are other devices made to keep occupants safe. Meanwhile, driver-assist features including lane-keep assist, lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, and rear cross-traffic alert are designed to keep accidents from happening in the first place. Depending on the trim level you get, these features are either optional or standard.

The Ford Expedition should be experienced in person, and it's best to do this by visiting Peoria Ford and taking a test drive.
