What's New for the 2019 Ford F-150?

For 2019, the Ford F-150 features several minor trim changes to keep it at the top of the full-size pickup class. This year, the biggest change is to the F-150 Limited, which now features the F-150 Raptor 450 horsepower V6 engine.

2019 F-150 Innovation in Trims and Features

The 2019 F-150 is available in several trim levels to meet the needs of everyone from fleet owners seeking a rugged, utilitarian truck to families and executives looking for a high-end vehicle. The F-150 is available in several different cab configurations - from the classic regular cab with two doors to the extended SuperCab with a small backseat area to the SuperCrew crew cab with four full doors and comfortable seating for five adults.

The most basic F-150, the F-150 XL, comes standard with a 3.3 liter V6 engine, cruise control, a rear view camera with trailer hitch guidance, steel wheels, vinyl seats, an AM/FM radio and manual windows and door locks. The F-150 XLT adds chrome trim, an optional power moonroof, SYNC technology, cloth seats, a keyless entry pad, aluminum wheels and power windows and door locks.

The upmarket F-150 Lariat adds leather seats, dual zone climate control, push button start, SYNC 3 technology and wood grain interior trim. The F-150 Lariat also comes standard with the 2.7 liter EcoBoost V6 and a ten-speed automatic transmission. The F-150 King Ranch has even more features, including trailer braking control, heated front and rear seats, a 110-volt power inverter, special King Ranch trim, LED fog lamps, a remote tailgate release, remote start, and a 5.0 liter V8 engine.

The F-150 Platinum adds 20 inch wheels, a unique grille, blind spot alerts and inflatable safety belts. The top-of-the-line F-150 Limited adds a 450 horsepower 3.5 liter V6 engine, standard adaptive cruise control, pre-collision assist, a 360-degree camera, a lane keeping system and 22 inch wheels.

The unique Ford F-150 Raptor is also available, and it features the same 450 horsepower engine as the F-150 limited but adds a unique grille, an electronic locking rear differential, FOX Racing Shox, hill descent control, 17 inch wheels mounted to beefy off-road tires, manual air conditioning, two hooks, air extractor vents on the hood, aluminum running boards and heavy duty skid plates to make it one of the most capable factory off-road vehicles on the market today.

A Variety of Powertrains for 2019

2019 Ford F-150 Limited FrontThe F-150 is available with a variety of powertrains. The base engine is a 290 horsepower 3.3 liter V6 engine with twin independent variable cam timing that optimizes performance under all conditions.

Higher trims feature an available 2.7 liter EcoBoost V6 engine that makes 325 horsepower and generates 400 lb-ft of torque. A 5.0 liter V8 with twin independent variable cam timing is available that makes 395 horsepower with 400 lb-ft of torque that can be equipped to run on CNG or propane.

The top-of-the-line engine is the 3.5 liter EcoBoost V6 which is available in two configurations. The 3.5 liter EcoBoost V6 in most trims makes 375 horsepower with 470 lb-ft of torque. The 3.5 liter V6 in the F-150 Raptor and F-150 Limited makes 450 horsepower with 510 lb-ft of torque. A 3.0 liter turbodiesel V5 is also available.

Is the 2019 F-150 Safe for Towing?

2019 Ford F-150 Limited Rear BedThe F-150 is available with several safety features, including blind spot monitoring, a pre-collision sensor, a rear view camera that offers trailer backing guidance, hill descent control and trailer braking control. The F-150 comes standard with dual airbags and side curtain airbags.
