What's New for the 2022 Ford Expedition?

There are going to be a number of changes occurring to the 2022 version of the Ford Expedition. This includes an entirely new interior design. You'll now find a 15.5-inch infotainment system (touch screen controlled) previously featured in the Ford Mustang Mach-e, and the dashboard has been redone. The front end and rear of the vehicle have also been redesigned. There is talk of a 3.5-liter Powerboost V6 engine with a hybrid powertrain, but it has not yet been confirmed.

2022 Ford Expedition Trims & Features

There are currently three trim levels being included in the 2022 lineup. This consists of the XL, XLT, and the Limited. The XL is the base model, and it is the most affordable, thanks to more basic inclusions like cloth upholstery, heated exterior mirrors, and traction control for safety. The XLT comes with a reverse sensing parking assist system, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a 60/40 split-bench setup in the vehicle's rear. The top-end Limited trim level is equipped with heated seats in the front, airbags throughout the front and sides of the interior, forward and reverse sensing parking assist technology, and rain-sensing wiper blades.

2022 Ford Expedition Horsepower

It's looking like the 2022 Expedition will carry over the 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine that achieves 375 horsepower. A 10-Speed Automatic transmission will be included standard. We're still waiting to hear more about the potential for a hybrid model.

2022 Ford Expedition Safety

We're still waiting on final safety ratings for the 2022 Ford Expedition, but the safety features are likely to stay the same from previous model years. In 2021, the Expedition received a five-star safety rating from the NHTSA. Depending on which trim level you choose, you'll be able to enjoy features like a tire pressure monitoring system, reverse sensing system, 360-degree camera with split-view, lane departure warning technology, cross-traffic alerts, side-impact bars, and a safety canopy system.
