What's new for the 2022 Ford Transit Connect?

For the 2022 model year, the Ford Transit Connect gets a revised front end with new LED headlights and a larger grille. The cargo van also gains some new driver-assistance features, including adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, and lane-keeping assist.

The Transit Connect cargo van has a squared-off look that helps maximize its cargo space. The van's dimensions are 186.7 inches long, 72.8 inches wide, and 77.2 inches tall, with a wheelbase of 111.8 inches. The vehicle's payload capacity is rated at 1,620 pounds, while its maximum towing capacity is 2,000 pounds.

The Transit Connect cargo van's interior is relatively spartan. Still, it's functional and designed to help you get the job done. The van comes standard with manual front seats, but power-adjustable seats are available. In addition, the Transit Connect can be outfitted with several accessories, including shelves, bins, racks, etc.

2022 Ford Transit Connect Trims and Features

The Transit Connect Wagon is available in five models: XL, XLT, Titanium, Passenger Wagon XL, and Passenger Wagon XLT.

The base Transit Connect XL comes standard with 16-inch steel wheels, manual front seats, a four-speaker audio system, Bluetooth connectivity, a USB port, and Ford's SYNC infotainment system with a 4.2-inch display.

The Transit Connect XLT builds on the XL's features with 17-inch aluminum wheels, LED headlights and fog lights, power-folding side mirrors, a roof rack, keyless entry, push-button start, remote start, cruise control, automatic climate control, cloth upholstery, a six-way power-adjustable driver's seat, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and an eight-speaker audio system.

The Transit Connect XLT is also available with the Technology Package. It adds automatic headlights, lane-keeping assist, automatic high beams, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and a reverse sensing system.

The Titanium trim adds 18-inch wheels, leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, and an 8-inch touchscreen display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration.

2022 Ford Transit Connect Horsepower

The Transit Connect cargo van comes standard with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 162 horsepower and 144 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

2022 Ford Transit Connect Safety

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has not released crash test ratings for the 2022 Transit Connect cargo van.

The Transit Connect comes standard with a rearview camera, automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-keeping assist. In addition, the Technology Package adds adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and a reverse sensing system.
