The latest Ford Explorer is hands down the best Explorer they are yet to offer. Explorer gets several new standard features and optional packages for the 2021 model year, including a Sports Appearance package on the XLT trim. The 2021 Ford Explorer is produced in five trims. The base model is equipped for comfort and convenience with a hands-free liftgate, a power-operated driver's seat, and split-folding seats in the second and third rows that provide more room for people or cargo as needed. The base trim's infotainment includes an eight-inch display screen. Android Auto, Apple CarPlay integration is standard. This trim comes with remote monitoring capabilities and a Wi-Fi hotspot as well.
The second trim in the lineup is the XLT. A more upscale cabin is the main focus of this trim. Standard features include keyless entry and ignition. Heated front seats are an added amenity, and the steering wheel is encased in leather. You can choose to get captain's chairs with this trim, and it also adds USB ports in the back row. With the Limited trim, you'll get more upscale cabin features. Interior ambient lighting and leather seats are added to the Limited, along with a heated steering wheel. You can also get an available hybrid powertrain with the Limited trim.
It also gets navigation, wireless device charging, and a 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system. Heated seats extend to the back row as well, and you will get some additional safety aids. The sporty ST gets paddle shifters to allow you to control gear-shifting, along with sportier front seats and a sport-tuned suspension. The ST adds a few extra safety aids. The lineup culminates with the Platinum trim with premium leather seats and adaptive headlights.

How Well Does the 2021 Ford Explorer Perform?
Two engines and a hybrid powerplant are available for the 2021 Ford Explorer. The first engine is a turbo 2.3L with four cylinders. This engine's maximum power reaches 300 HP. Its maximum torque is 310 LB-FT. The ST trim gets a turbocharged V6 engine, with an increased power output of 400 HP and 415 LB-FT of torque. Both engines are mated to automatic transmissions. Rear-wheel drive is standard, while all-wheel drive is available and standard on the Platinum. The hybrid powertrain includes a 3.3L V6 coupled with an electric motor for a combined 318 HP on the Limited trim.
