The Ford Ranger gets some interior updates in 2021, and its exterior can be embellished with an off-road package. The 2021 Ranger has a long list of features than before. Now, the base trim, called the XL, can be equipped with higher-end technology, including the Ford 3 Sync infotainment package. The driver's seat in the Lariat has been changed slightly to offer six-way mobility. The 2021 Ranger can be accessorized with an off-road package called the Tremor package that gives it more features designed to handle rugged terrain and look the part of a trail-worthy truck, too.

The same lineup returns for the Ford Ranger in 2021. This year, the Ranger is offered in three trims. The first trim is the base called the XL. There's a lot to enjoy at this trim level, which gets an EcoBoost engine for power and efficiency, steel wheels, LED lights, and more. All three trims have a maximum seating capacity for five with a bench-style second-row seat. The base trim has cloth upholstery, while leather seats are standard at the top trim level. Front-wheel drive is standard. Single-zone air conditioning is standard, but you can select dual-zone climate control for the first time in 2021.

Dual-zone climate control is standard, beginning with the second trim. There is a standard 2.3-inch display screen at the base level, while a larger 4.2-inch display screen is available. WiFi is included as well. The second trim upgrades to a central eight-inch touchscreen with LED lighting. Carpeted floor mats are added to this trim. Keeping devices and tools charged is easy with two 12V charging ports and a 110V power outlet. The Lariat trim has 18-inch wheels offered in a variety of finishes. It adds more standard safety equipment, and it has a push-button start. Ford's Sync 3 system is standard.

How Well Does the 2021 Ranger Perform?

The Ford Ranger has the same engine in 2021 that it had in 2020. The engine remains a four-cylinder with a displacement of 2.3L. The engine's maximum power output, which is 270 HP, and its maximum torque, 310 LB-FT, is enough to give the Ranger a towing capacity of 7,500 pounds. The Ranger is available with front-wheel or four-wheel drive.
