2021 Ford Transit

What's New For the 2021 Ford Transit?

The 2021 Ford Transit is a passenger van that continues to evolve and now comes with a larger maximum payload of 11,000 pounds points. Drivers can utilize an automatic parking brake that now comes standard and was only an available feature on past models. Three new color shades are also offered with the passenger van to ensure consumers can have more of a selection. The van can seat up to 15 passengers and has a modern and contemporary interior setting, making it feel upscale and comfortable.

Available Features in the 2021 Ford Transit

The 2021 Ford Transit comes in four variants: Cargo Van, Crew Van, Passenger Van XL, and Passenger Van XLT. All trims come with a locking glovebox, two auxiliary 12V outlets, a 4.0-inch multifunction display audio system with dual USB ports, and Bluetooth. The main difference between the Cargo Van and Crew Van trims is seating capacity, with the former seating two and the latter, five.

The Passenger Van XL adds 10-seat capacity, 15-seat capacity on the extended length, a large center console, and front and rear carpeting. The Passenger Van XLT includes SYNC 3 with the infotainment center, wiper-activated headlamps, front fog lamps, a front and rear split-view camera, and reclining rear seats (except the last row of seats).

2021 Ford Transit Horsepower

The Ford Transit has more than enough power under the hood, with two powertrain options available. Those who select the base engine can take advantage of a 3.5-liter V-6 engine that generates 275 horsepower with 262 lb-ft of torque. Drivers who desire more power can select the turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 engine and take advantage of 310 horsepower with 410 lb-ft of torque. A 10-speed automatic transmission is paired with both engines. Drivers also have the option of choosing between rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive.

2021 Ford Transit Safety

Many safety and driver-assistant features come standard in the new Transit, allowing drivers to have more confidence behind the wheel with forward-collision warning with automated emergency braking, lane-keeping assistance, and lane-departure warning to avoid drifting into other lanes. Adaptive cruise control is one of the most advanced features included and helps you to maintain a safe distance behind other vehicles on the road on long trips.
