What's New for the 2026 Ford Mustang?

The 2026 Ford Mustang sees minimal changes overall. Ford focused on a few trim-specific updates and modified optional packages so buyers can better tailor it. The Mustang remains notable for its user-friendly, performance-focused tech displays. It accelerates quickly, handles capably, and has a surprisingly spacious cabin for its class.

What Are the 2026 Mustang Trims & Features?

You can get the 2026 Ford Mustang in one of six trim levels.

The EcoBoost is the lineup's base model, including LED headlights and 17-inch wheels. A dual exhaust is standard for both aesthetics and performance. The EcoBoost also features keyless entry and dual-zone climate control. Cloth upholstery is standard, with a leather gear shifter adding a premium accent. Tech features include a Wi-Fi hotspot, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, a 13.2-inch infotainment display, and a 12.4-inch digital gauge cluster.

EcoBoost Premium adds synthetic-leather seats and ambient interior lighting. A heated steering wheel is standard, and the front seats are heated and ventilated. This trim also gets an upgraded audio system, proximity-sensing exterior lights, and power-adjustable mirrors.

The GT trim includes a functional hood vent, larger brake rotors, and trim-specific styling cues.

GT Premium includes everything from the GT and upgrades to larger 19-inch wheels.

The Dark Horse raises performance with engine oil coolers, a B&O sound system, custom 19-inch wheels, an active exhaust, and distinct styling and badges.

The Dark Horse Premium further enhances the Dark Horse with track-oriented hardware - approximately 500 hp from a 5.0L V8 (available with a 6-speed manual or 10-speed automatic), MagneRide® dampers, high-performance Brembo® brakes, heavy-duty engine/transmission/diff coolers, and optional Handling Package and RECARO® seats for more focused track performance.
